Primary residence of an active retired couple set on a dramatically sloping site which drops to a fast flowing river.
The house is entered from the top of the site via a small private road which enters into a large gravel court dominated by a vast reflecting pool. Mature trees were maintained and help provide much needed shade.
The house is really an exercise in landscape. Accommodation is grouped around a series of garden courtyards which provide through ventilation and double aspect for its living areas. Rooms form a series of terraces which traverse the steep site whilst their roofs provide landscape and terraces for the rooms above.
