The project’s site is located in a very busy, popular area. The client bought a partially built 4-storey structure (only) which, due to changes in the (hotel) permit regulations, needed to be substantially retained. After removing as much as was allowed, we set about reusing this structure (plus new additions) to create a new 4-star hotel for the Dialoog Group. As this will be only the second Dialoog Hotel, we have been involved in the basic development of the brand DNA and we are now engaged in several (other) properties for the same operator. As characterizes all of our properties, we have placed great emphasis on natural/through ventilation, extensive “greening” of roofs/use of planters on the building and other strategies to reduce energy use and draw natural light deep into a densely packed “urban” site.
