Created for a major fitness brand in Bali, these apartments range in size from 72m2 to 120m2 and feature private saunas and cold plunge pools on every terrace.

The building is organised around an central open “court” with circulation and extensive planting. At the upper levels circulation walkways are created using perforated metal decks which allow light to filter down to the planted areas below. Over time, once the planting is established, it is intended that these walkways will be  akin to walking through the tree canopy.

In contrast to the usual “staked boxes” approach to Condo type developments, the apartments are rotated and flipped as they climb up through the levels to give something of a “Jenga” like appearance to the property. Essentially each of the apartments are articulated from its neighbours presenting as a series of “towers” (or legs), the “empty” space between is used for vertical circulation/escape stairs or left completely open allowing cross ventilation through the property as well as enabling light to penetrate  into the central court.

In addition to the aforementioned saunas and cold plunge pools, each apartment’s terrace features planters and outdoor (covered) sitting areas which connect seamlessly to the interiors.  To align with allowed coverage ratio requirements, the decision was made to give the open space to the ground floor apartments in the form of private gardens.

The rooftop is treated as common area which all residents/guests share, this features a 15m infinity pool, a large jacuzzi, extensive deck areas, a common sauna & cold plunge,  sunken seating areas under a pergola structure and a callisthenics/outdoor gym area.

A second incarnation of the “Lifestyle apartments” will open in the Uluwatu Bali in October this year.
